AAESS incorporated
in 1991, is the peak body representing the interests of Exercise
Physiologists in Australia. Musculoskeletal rehabilitation is
a specialist accreditation, open only to those full members
with the necessary knowledge, skills and experiences to attain
this status.
Our Exercise
Physiologists are accredited with ESSA, and advocate a multi-disciplinary
approach to the management of musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis,
joint replacements, knee reconstruction surgery, arthroscopic
surgery, fractures, work injury and motor vehicle rehabilitation,
and articular cartilage implantation (MACI®).

recommend that people do at least double the suggested 30 minutes
of exercise a day to remain healthy and prevent obesity –
one of the main risk factors for Type II diabetes.” Our
weight management and diabetes prevention program was developed
in conjuction with Dr Tim Welborn (Clinical Professor, UWA),

Programs
are generally 6 weeks in length with recommended twice weekly
visits for a minimum of one hour. The individualised treatment
program includes land-based resistance and aerobic exercise,
hydrotherapy and remedial massage.
GPs can
refer patients on the enhanced primary care plan.
