Berit is an experienced lymphoedema practitioner since completing the Complete Decongestive training with Dr Vodder School in 2012. After a veterinary career in South Africa and the UK, Berit completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Notre Dame University, furthering her interest and skills in pain, swelling and physiotherapy management post-cancer surgery.

 

Berit supports patient empowerment through education to optimise quality of life, overall wellbeing and management of conditions like lymphoedema and lipoedema. Assisting to maintain mobility and independence are central. Berit is a group facilitator for the Cancer Council Lymphoedema Support Group, providing health-related information and facilitating peer support to help people manage their holistic health needs after diagnosis with lymphoedema. 

 

Berit's personal interests include enjoying cycling, hiking and fishing in beautiful places.

 

Berit provides the following services at HFRC:

Initial and ongoing assessment - measurement and review of swelling, scars and tissue, associated with cancer and other treatments.
