Lisa, has been a Remedial Massage Therapist for 12 years.  Her interest in Remedial Massage came when she was working in government, being active daily, by going to the gym and riding her bike to work.  Lisa was fortunate enough to have a massage every week; however, even though she was active and having regular massage, having a sit-down job was not doing her neck and shoulders any good.  After four years, Lisa went on to study Remedial Massage, which gave her the opportunity to meet new people.  Lisa started off with seated massage. Working in a day spa, she loved massaging and helping people feel relaxed and to release tension in their bodies. She went on to get her Diploma in Remedial Massage.

While massaging, Lisa will incorporate a variety of modalities, depending on the clients’ needs. Lisa enjoys myofascial work, but will incorporate positional or active release technique, etc.

Lisa likes to improve range of motion, with minimal pain, where possible.

Having experienced many different types of bodywork and enjoyed all the benefits of massage therapy, Lisa came across a therapist who was studying Exercise Physiology at Curtin. Once she found out what this entailed, in 2004 started part-time studying at UWA to become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
