Coming from a background of high-level sport, Michael combined this passion with the desire to help prevent, manage and rehabilitate injuries by pursuing a career in Exercise Physiology. He completed his Bachelor of Science (Exercise Physiology) from Murdoch University in 2017, beginning work as an Exercise Physiologist at HFRC the same year. He completed his Honours in 2019, conducting research into alternative methods of assessing lower limb strength following Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction.
Combining a passion for research and patient education, he continues to be involved in clinical research projects. This enables him to provide the most up-to-date evidence-guided treatments to ensure optimal patient outcomes, along with providing patients with the knowledge and tools to manage their conditions independently in the long-term.
Michael has treatment experience across a variety of conditions, from total joint replacement to chronic pain and weight loss. His particular areas of interest include pre- and post-surgery rehabilitation for knee and ankle reconstructions and, exercise-based management of chronic neck and back pain.
Outside of work, you will often find Michael on the bike, running or rowing if he’s not out bush camping and exploring.
