Ross graduated with Honours from Curtin School of Physiotherapy in 1992. His thesis was a comparative study on low back pain in surfers and surf lifesavers.

After graduating Ross developed the physiotherapy program with the WACA, travelling with the WA Cricket team, whilst simultaneously studying post graduate sports physiotherapy and practicing in the field of physical rehabilitation for chronic low back pain.

Ross completed his Specialisation in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy in 2009 and continued to be an examiner in the Specialisation Program, which involved examining candidates from across the country at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

Ross served on National committees for the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Australian College of Physiotherapists over a 10 year period and has successfully mentored physiotherapists progressing through the Specialist Physiotherapist pathway.
Ross continues to surf, and has a focus on keeping people active in their chosen sport and recreation.
